This project was created as a heartfelt gift for a client to celebrate his wife’s 40th birthday. The animation is based on a cherished bedtime story told by her grandfather to her and her sister during their childhood.
The story follows two sisters who build two snowmen. The snowmen magically come to life and want to enter the house to avoid melting. The girls’ father allows the snowmen to stay in the refrigerator, but they end up eating all the ice cream. To keep the snowmen satisfied, the family buys more and more ice cream. One day, a power outage causes the snowmen to melt. Though the sisters are saddened, their father comforts them by saying that the snow will return next winter, and they can build new snowmen.
The story is narrated in Russian by the grandfather’s voice, adding authenticity and nostalgia to the project. The animation is designed in a classic Russian illustration style, evoking warmth and tradition, while celebrating family memories and storytelling.
